J. H. Philpot

Dr J. H. Philpot was the son of the ‘Gospel Standard’ Strict Baptist minister John Charles Philpot, who had seceded from the Church of England ministry in 1835. He published in two volumes (1930, 1932) The Seceders, a collection from the letters and diaries of his father and Rev William Tiptaft, who had similarly seceded a few years prior to J. C. Philpot. The Trust has published the biographical section of these volumes, together with a selection of other documents, as The Seceders, in paperback.
