Review: A Handful of Pebbles
The title comes from the premise that ‘Liberal theology offers us a handful of pebbles; the God of the Bible offers us Jesus Christ – ‘the Bread of Life’.
In this slim volume Peter Barnes sets out clearly and succinctly what he sees as theological Liberalism, warnings in the Bible that he sees as directly relevant, historical background to the rise of Liberalism and what has happened since. Liberalism is a threat to Bible believing Christianity and those who keep faith with Evangelical teaching. Previously published 2003 in Australia as Theological Liberalism: A Handful of Pebbles this new edition from Banner of Truth is a very useful explanation of the arguments and the objections to the contested writings of leading Liberal scholars.
