Book Description
Who were the Puritans? What did they seek to achieve? What were their successes and failures? Are they of any importance to Christians today?
We firmly believe that all Christians need to discover the important story of how these men and women sought to follow Jesus Christ. Their convictions resulted in a brave and joyful faith, and the writing they have left us on the Christian life continues to be a rich resource for our own discipleship. Meeting the Puritans by listening to them has enriched both of us more than we can express. And so, in The Glory of Grace, we want to introduce you to people who had a deep love for Jesus Christ and a great vision for the Christian life. We all have much to learn…
Each chapter contains a concise introduction followed by carefully selected excerpts from key Puritan works, together with suggestions for further reading.

Daniel Gumprecht –
This is a helpful new resource that will introduce individuals to the Puritans. After a brief introduction to the Puritan and their selected writing, the reader can hear the Puritans in their own words.
While all chapters are beneficial and edifying, of note are the chapters by Bridge, Baxter, Flavel, and Boston.
Special thanks to Allen and Chester for their effort putting this together!
Helene Felter –
This is a wonderful book! I read a chapter every morning and was so uplifted and comforted in my relationship to God, I felt I could do anything on the days I kept reading! Also this is a brilliant introduction to the world of the Puritans. I was not very up on the historical context of these authors, but this book makes it easy to understand what kind of world they lived in, what they were up against politically and socially. They had their challenges, like we have ours (what would they make of the challenges we face from the internet, distracted lives and a permissive, materialistic culture?). However, everything they write is so up-to-date, so relevant and they write so beautifully and straight from the heart, yet with balance, depth and wisdom. This book offers the chance to sample the different writing styles of different puritan authors in one book and I found it extremely helpful that the original texts in this book have been gently edited and modernised.
