Job Opportunity: Finance Manager at the Banner of Truth Trust

The Banner of Truth Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Finance Manager. This role is central to the stewardship of the Trust’s financial resources, supporting the ministry through accurate reporting, strong financial management, and effective systems.

Location: Edinburgh (on-site)

You will have full responsibility for the accounting function of the Banner of Truth Trust and the Banner of Truth Building Fund Trust. This includes ensuring the integrity of financial records, delivering timely and insightful management information, and supporting sound financial decision-making across the organization.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Shares a commitment to the Banner of Truth ethos and understands the importance of this ministry
• Is highly organized, accurate, and dependable in financial management
• Is comfortable working in a small team and contributing across a range of responsibilities
• Has experience in a similar finance role
• Is proficient in Xero or similar accounting software
• Has strong technical accounting knowledge
• Is experienced in preparing accounts for audit
• Has the ability to communicate financial information clearly

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounting function for both Trusts including:

• Sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers including order processing, payments, updates and journals
• Cashbook entry, reconciliation, and banking
• Maintaining stock records and producing cash flow forecasts
• Production of monthly management reports and accounting statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and trial balance
• Completing VAT returns
• Maintaining inter-company and foreign currency accounts
• Developing and maintaining the fixed asset register
• Maintaining customer records and filing
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
• Assist the Chief Operating Officer in preparing reports for Trustees
• Maintain Xero
• Ensure PCI compliance
• Liaise with IT support
• Manage royalties
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal staff
